Spring Training opens the baseball calendar in February and March. The MLB regular season runs from late March through September. Postseason games typically take place during October. MiLB seasons run from April through mid-September. FCL games run from early May through late July.

Each year, Florida hosts 15 Spring Training teams. The state also features the 10-team Single-A Florida State League. The FCL includes 15 rookie-level teams. During the regular season, Florida is home to the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays. Upper-level MiLB affiliates include the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
