Tampa Bay Rays – MLB

The Tampa Bay Rays are one of Florida’s two Major League Baseball (MLB) teams. They compete in the American League East and play home games at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Explore ballpark photos, view the map, access official team links, and check St. Petersburg weather.

Tropicana Field remains MLB’s only fixed-dome venue. Opened in 1998, the stadium has served as the team’s home ever since. Fully enclosed and climate-controlled year-round, the stadium includes catwalk structures that affect high fly balls. Its distinctive sloped roof is one of the last remnants of the multi-purpose stadium era. A synthetic turf playing surface and compact seating bowl create a close-in fan experience.

Tropicana Field sits about a mile from the waterfront and 10 miles from St. Pete Beach. In 2024, hurricane-force winds damaged the roof’s membrane and caused interior water damage. The Rays played the 2025 season at George M. Steinbrenner Field during repairs. For Spring Training, the Tampa Bay Rays use Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Florida.
