FCL Pirates – Florida Complex League

The Florida Complex League (FCL) Pirates are a rookie-level team. They are a Minor League Baseball (MiLB) affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The team competes in the FCL South Division. The team plays at Pirate City in Bradenton, Florida. Explore facility photos, view the map, access official FCL links, and check Bradenton weather.

Games take place on practice fields arranged in a multi-diamond layout. Admission is free, with informal seating and minimal amenities. The Pirates play up to six days a week from Monday through Saturday. About 4 miles from LECOM Park, Pirate City operates as the Pirates’ year-round player development complex.

Four practice fields form a cloverleaf, each named for a Pirates Hall of Famer. Field names honor Roberto Clemente, Pie Traynor, Honus Wagner, and Willie Stargell. This layout allows coaches to monitor workouts from a central point. On-site dormitories house up to 150 minor league players. Pirate City hosts the Fall Instructional League, rehabilitation assignments, and extended Spring Training. Youth organizations can use the facilities during the offseason.

Both the Pittsburgh Pirates and their Florida State League (FSL) affiliate, the Bradenton Marauders, train at the complex. When Grapefruit League games begin, the parent club moves Spring Training to LECOM Park in Bradenton.
