Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota has hosted Orioles Spring Training since 2010. The ballpark features seating from Oriole Park at Camden Yards, wide concourses, and varied seating areas. A fabric sunshade covers much of the upper seating bowl, helping keep fans shaded during day games. A left-field pavilion offers drink rails and casual seating overlooking the field. Most sections provide close sightlines to the action. Adjacent training areas include batting cages, pitching labs, and motion analysis technology. The complex also has a climate-controlled training infield.
Ed Smith Stadium stands just east of downtown Sarasota. Bayfront Park, about 2.5 miles away, lines the bay with walking paths and marina views. About 7 miles from the stadium, the Mote Science Education Aquarium focuses on marine science and hands-on education. Siesta Beach, about 9 miles away, attracts visitors with its soft white quartz sand.
When the regular season begins, the Orioles compete in the American League. During the summer, the Florida Complex League (FCL) holds its season, and the FCL Orioles play at Ed Smith Stadium.
