Florida Complex League Schedule
The Florida Complex League (FCL) is a rookie-level circuit in Florida. This league is an early stateside step for prospects in Major League Baseball (MLB) organizations. Teams primarily play at training complexes instead of traditional stadiums. During the summer, scouts evaluate talent and fans can watch prospects begin their professional careers. Most teams share facilities with their parent club’s Spring Training operations.
Teams typically play about 60 games. Games usually take place around noon on weekdays and Saturday mornings. Because Florida weather can change quickly, rain delays or cancellations occasionally affect the schedule.
FCL rosters feature newly signed prospects. Some players come from the Dominican Summer League (DSL). The DSL serves as the primary entry point for international amateur free agents before they advance to stateside competition. Rehab appearances by established MLB players occur throughout the summer.
FCL Opening Day marks the start of competition for many recent draft picks and international signees. For most players, it represents their first game in a United States professional league. The focus remains on development and instruction rather than wins and losses.
The FCL season runs from May 2 through July 23, followed by playoffs. Minor League Baseball (MiLB) resources provide dates and matchups.
