Florida Pro Baseball Teams Overview

Florida hosts two Major League Baseball teams. The Miami Marlins (National League) play at loanDepot Park in Miami. Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Rays (American League) play at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.

Florida hosts two Minor League Baseball teams competing in nationwide leagues. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, a Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, play home games at VyStar Ballpark. The Pensacola Blue Wahoos, a Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, play at Blue Wahoos Stadium.

The Jumbo Shrimp have a long Jacksonville history, and they often develop more experienced prospects. They compete in the International League’s East Division. Both teams play their home games in Florida, but their schedules also include road trips across many states.
