Pittsburgh Pirates Block Party
Florida Pro Baseball covers professional baseball leagues and teams in Florida. This includes the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball (MLB), who play in the Grapefruit League. It also includes the Bradenton Marauders of the Florida State League (FSL).
The block party came alive on Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton. It kicked off the Spring Training season of the Pirates with a variety of fan-focused activities. As an annual tradition, the event brings fans and local residents together to celebrate the start of baseball. The Pirates have trained in Bradenton since 1969. They use LECOM Park and Pirate City, both near downtown.
Bradenton sits in southwestern Florida along the Manatee River and is part of the Sarasota-Bradenton metropolitan area. The city is known for its beaches, parks, and proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. It also has a long and rich history with Major League Baseball.
Several players from the Pirates organization attended the event, including infielders Jared Triolo, Nick Gonzales, and Jack Brannigan. Outfielder Matt Gorski and pitcher Braxton Ashcraft also joined. They signed autographs and posed for photos with Florida Pro Baseball and fans throughout the block party.
