FCL Blue Jays Win 2025 Florida Complex League Championship

Florida Pro Baseball follows Florida Complex League (FCL) teams, including the FCL Blue Jays. They are affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays.

On July 28, 2025, the Blue Jays won the Florida Complex League championship. They defeated the FCL Twins 7–5 in Game 2 of the best-of-3 Finals at Lee Health Sports Complex. Notably, this is the Blue Jays’ first FCL title in the league’s 61-year history.

The 2025 FCL regular season ran from June through late July. During the season, the Blue Jays finished with a 36–23 record, earning a wild card spot in the playoffs.

In the decisive Game 2, Samuel Colmenares started for the Blue Jays and delivered a strong performance. Then, Dylan Leach hit a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning to give the team a lead. The Twins tied the game in the bottom of the inning. However, Aldo Gaxiola knocked in two go-ahead runs with a single in the seventh inning. The Blue Jays added insurance runs in the eighth, and Diego Dominguez closed out the game with a flyout in the ninth. As a result, the final score was 7–5.

The Blue Jays swept the championship series and capped a remarkable season. Overall, this title highlights the strength and development of Toronto’s rookie-level affiliate in the Florida Complex League.
