2024 MLB Spring Breakout Announcement
Major League Baseball (MLB) has announced a new Spring Training event called “Spring Breakout” scheduled for March 14–17. During this event, all 30 MLB teams will showcase 20–25 of their top prospects in seven-inning exhibition games against either Minor League Baseball (MiLB) teams or rookie talents from other organizations. Some of these matchups will be combined with regular MLB Spring Training games, resulting in in-stadium doubleheaders. This allows fans to see both future and current stars in action.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred highlights the purpose of the event, emphasizing its role in displaying upcoming talent and strengthening collaboration between Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball. Rosters will be announced later, and eligibility is open to prospects regardless of Minor League experience.
The Spring Breakout schedule features games at both Florida and Arizona Spring Training sites.
