New York Yankees – Grapefruit League

The New York Yankees hold Spring Training at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida. As part of the Grapefruit League, the Yankees train here each spring before the regular season. This page includes photos and a map of the ballpark, links to official MLB resources, and Tampa weather information.

George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida, is complemented by the New York Yankees Player Development and Scouting Complex. Named after late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, the stadium ranks among Florida’s largest Spring Training facilities. The field dimensions closely replicate those of Yankee Stadium, and the scalloped grandstand facade mirrors Yankee Stadium’s iconic frieze. Recent renovations added a right-field bar, premium loge boxes, and bullpen clubs. The 360-degree outfield concourse allows fans to walk completely around the playing field. The expansive layout includes four full practice diamonds positioned behind the left-field berm. Located just a short drive from Tampa Bay’s waterfront parks, beaches, and the scenic Hillsborough River, fans can enjoy a day of baseball alongside Florida’s coastal and outdoor attractions.

After Spring Training, the Yankees compete in the American League. The Steinbrenner Field complex also hosts the Florida State League (FSL) team, the Tampa Tarpons. During the summer, the Florida Complex League (FCL) runs its season, and the FCL Yankees use the Player Development and Scouting Complex.
