Baltimore Orioles – Grapefruit League

The Baltimore Orioles, a Major League Baseball (MLB) team, hold Spring Training at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida. As part of the Grapefruit League, the Orioles train here each spring before the regular season. This page features stadium photos, a map, official MLB links, and Sarasota weather information.

Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota has hosted Orioles Spring Training since 2010. A major renovation brought recycled seats from Oriole Park at Camden Yards, wider concourses, and expanded shaded sections. The left-field pavilion includes drink rails and a casual atmosphere overlooking the field. Most areas of the ballpark have close views of the action. The player development complex houses batting cages, pitching labs, biomechanics systems, and a climate-controlled training infield.

Just east of downtown Sarasota, Ed Smith Stadium sits near restaurants, shops, and areas along Sarasota Bay. Bayfront Park lines the bay with walking paths and marina views. Siesta Beach, known for its powdery white quartz sand, draws visitors from across the Gulf Coast.

After Spring Training, the Orioles compete in the American League. During the summer, the Florida Complex League (FCL) runs its season, and the FCL Orioles play at Ed Smith Stadium.
