Baltimore Orioles – Grapefruit League
The Baltimore Orioles hold Spring Training at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida. As part of the Grapefruit League, the Orioles train here each spring before the regular season. This page includes photos and a map of the stadium, links to official Major League Baseball (MLB) resources, and Sarasota weather information.
Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota has hosted Orioles Spring Training for many years and developed deep local roots. A major renovation brought recycled seats from Oriole Park at Camden Yards, wider concourses, and expanded shaded sections. A left-field pavilion with drink rails and casual atmosphere overlooks the field. Most areas of the ballpark have close views of the action. A modern player development complex opened in 2026, adding batting cages, pitching labs, biomechanics systems, and a climate-controlled training infield.
Just east of downtown Sarasota, Ed Smith Stadium sits near restaurants, shops, and areas along Sarasota Bay. Bayfront Park lines the bay with walking paths and marina views. Siesta Beach, known for powdery white quartz sand, ranks among the Gulf Coast’s most celebrated beaches.
After Spring Training, the Orioles compete in the American League. During the summer, the Florida Complex League (FCL) runs its season, and the FCL Orioles play at Ed Smith Stadium.
