2025 Baltimore Orioles Spring Training
Florida Pro Baseball follows the Baltimore Orioles, a Major League Baseball (MLB) team that competes in the Grapefruit League. Recently, Florida Pro Baseball visited the Orioles’ first official 2025 Spring Training workout.
The Baltimore Orioles kicked off their 2025 Spring Training in Sarasota, Florida, as they prepare for the upcoming MLB season. Pitchers and catchers reported on February 12, with the first on-field workouts taking place on Thursday, February 13. This marks the Orioles’ 16th spring training season in Sarasota and their 15th at the renovated Ed Smith Stadium.
In addition, new Orioles ownership arrived in Sarasota for Spring Training. MLB approved David Rubenstein as the majority owner of the Baltimore Orioles in March 2024. Rubenstein is focused on revitalizing the team and returning the Orioles to World Series contention.
Meanwhile, in 2025, the backfields have seen modest expansions to the public viewing areas. The space in front of several sections of the bleachers near the backfield observation tower has opened up. Additionally, the public now has some access just beyond the right field of practice field #1.
Furthermore, the Orioles have recently unveiled plans to expand their presence at the Ed Smith Stadium Complex, committing over $21 million of team funds to develop a cutting-edge player performance center. The team expects to complete this one-year project by 2026, marking a significant long-term enhancement to the team’s Sarasota facility.
Finally, if you miss out on a visit to see the 2025 Baltimore Orioles during Spring Training, you can still catch some action at Ed Smith Stadium during the summer when the Florida Complex League (FCL) Orioles play at the Orioles’ Spring Training complex.
