Pittsburgh Pirates Block Party
Florida Pro Baseball recently attended the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Block Party. Florida Pro Baseball covers professional baseball leagues and teams in Florida, including the Pittsburgh Pirates of the Grapefruit League and the Bradenton Marauders of the Florida State League (FSL).
The block party took place on Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton. It marked the kickoff of the Pirates’ Spring Training season and featured a variety of activities for fans. As an annual tradition, the event brings together fans and local residents to celebrate the start of the baseball season. The Pirates have held Spring Training in Bradenton since 1969, with their facilities, including LECOM Park and Pirate City, located nearby.
Bradenton, located in southwestern Florida along the Manatee River, is part of the Sarasota-Bradenton metropolitan area. The city is known for its beautiful beaches, parks, and proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, as well as its long history with Major League Baseball.
Several players from the Pirates organization attended the event, including infielders Jared Triolo, Nick Gonzales, and Jack Brannigan. Outfielder Matt Gorski and pitcher Braxton Ashcraft also joined in. They signed autographs and posed for photos with Florida Pro Baseball and other fans.
